About Programs

  • Overview of Program Management.

A program refers to a group of related projects managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually. A program may include operational work (i.e. ongoing operations which are outside the scope of individual projects). Please note that at times a large project can be split into multiple related projects and then it is referred to as a program.

    What is program Management?

    Program Management refers to :

    • Centralized coordinated management of a program to achieve the program’s strategic benefits and objectives
    • Includes benefits management, stakeholder management and program governance for the entire program
    • Focuses on project interdependencies and optimal pacing for the program. This enables effective planning and execution of related projects in the program
    • Please note that program managers coordinate efforts between projects but do not manage individual projects
